John H. Stamps has been working with business, professional and individuals to reduce taxes for over 30 years in central Alabama. John is a strong believer in the team approach. When working with clients, he prefers to include the clients attorney, investment advisor and banker. When you use this approach and everyone is working together, much more can be accomplished for the client. John has conducted tax seminars with his attorney in the metropolitan area of Birmingham, plus he has been a speaker at many civic and service clubs in central Alabama.
Mr. Stamps has been and still is a strong advocate of education and training. During his military service he started his formal education attending night school at St. Petersburg Junior College, The University of Maryland and The University of Alabama. Immediately after completing his military service, he attended The University of Montevallo and he also started taking professional courses in the insurance field. John has attended advanced training at many home office schools around the country. i.e. Orlando, FL. Atlanta, GA, Lexington, KY, Chicago, IL, New Orleans, LA and Birmingham, AL.
John has a long history of service. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force with a distinguished record. His service to the community is broad. i.e. President of the Hueytown Chamber of Commerce (twice), President of the Hueytown Parent Teacher Student Organization at Pittman Junior High, President of the Hueytown Lions Club (three times), President of Tuscaloosa Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of "BRAGS" Birmingham Regional Association of Golfing Seniors. His activities in service also include serving on some additional boards. Boys & Girls Club of Hueytown, three boards at The University of Montevallo, BJCC, Birmingham Jefferson County Civic Center, plus served as area coordinator for Boy Scouts of America in Hueytown.
John has been married for over 52 years to his wife Shirley and they have two children, one daughter Karla and one son Brady. Three Grandchildren Katherine, Will & Kara. When John is not working or spending time with his family, you probably will find him working on his golf game, his favorite hobby. One of his proudest moments in golf was when he was inducted in the Birmingham Golf Association Hall of Fame.
